DESCRIPTION:Join us to explore some of the hotspots for birds at Winterthur\, including wetlands\, meadows\, and the woodlands along Clenny Run. Observe resident birds as well as migrating raptors\, warblers\, and sparrows. For beginning or experienced bird watchers. Bring your binoculars. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear walking shoes. $20; $10 for Members. Park in the Visitor Parking Lot and meet at the Picnic House (the small building at the far end of the lot). Walks start promptly at scheduled time. In case of inclement weather\, an update message will be left at 302.888.4864 by 7:00 am on the morning of the walk. DESCRIPTION:DelArt Executive Director Molly Giordano will be in conversation with Victoria Johnson\, author of Glorious Country: How Frederic Church Brought the World to America and America to the World\, at the History Book Festival in Lewes. This first-ever biography of Frederic Church shows how the virtuosic artist and adventurer brought the wider world to a young America while putting American art on the international map. Johnson is an acclaimed author and Hunter College professor whose book American Eden was a finalist for both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. Held since 2017\, the History Book Festival is the first and only book festival in the United States devoted exclusively to history. Free Seats are available on a first-come basis.

SUMMARY:DelArt Film Society: The Wild West presents A Fistful of Dollars (1964)
DESCRIPTION:Westerns once ruled Hollywood. The quintessential American film genre. A mythology rooted in our identity. Survival\, betrayal\, redemption\, revenge. A raw view of the untamed west\, romanticized\, yet rugged. A symbol of freedom and the American dream.  \nOver time\, the westerns started to fade. A cultural shift in the 60s/70s saw less black-and-white moral codes\, and moral ambiguity which kept them alive for a little bit longer\, before the Blockbuster era finished them off…but not forever.  \nA resurgence in the 90s/2000s followed by the genre-bending 2010s proved that Westerns can still thrive today. The DelArt Film Society dives into the Western\, peels back the myths\, and showcases four incredible films that span the history of the genre. \n🚫 Outside food and drinks are not allowed\, but feel free to bring a water bottle—there’s a refill station conveniently located near the auditorium. \nA Fistful of Dollars (1964)\nA wandering gunfighter plays two rival families against each other in a town torn apart by greed\, pride\, and revenge. \nThe first film in “The Man with No Name” trilogy. Director Sergio Leone popularized the “Spaghetti Western” and reinvented the genre with this classic film.
