Fox Point State Park

By the late 20th century, as industry declined and environmental priorities shifted, Delaware began reclaiming riverfront properties for public use. Fox Point State Park officially opened in 2005, part of a broader effort to transform the Delaware River shoreline into accessible green space. Its name comes from the historic “Fox Point” area along the river — a geographic reference that predates the park itself.
